On Wednesday, July 07, 2010 BMI Federal Credit Union donated a number of new fans to LifeCare Alliance. With temperatures reaching well over 90 degrees in Columbus, many people and families are finding it difficult to stay cool. LifeCare Alliance and The Breathing Association have teamed up to distribute donated fans to those in need.

[Columbus, Ohio] – BMI FCU raised money toward the Ohio credit union statewide fundraiser, Marching Miles for Miracle Kids, to raise money for the Children’s Miracle Network and the eight children’s hospitals serving Ohio. The event as a whole raised $110,000 this year, bringing the four-year total to $370,000.

BMI FCU is proud to be a supporter of this collaborative effort and raised money through a variety of ways.

The 170-mile relay-style march kicked-off in Dublin on March 28 and concluded in Cincinnati on April 15 at the Ohio Credit Union League ZENITH10 in the Duke Energy Convention Center. On average, marchers walked 10 miles a day during the 18-day trek. Credit union professionals, volunteers, and members statewide raised money through an online fundraising site.

Children’s Miracle Network generates funds and awareness programs in partnership with and for the benefit of member hospitals/foundations and the children they serve. Compassionate organizations, media partners and individuals unite with Children’s Miracle Network hospitals to help sick and injured kids in local communities. Donations to Children’s Miracle Network create miracles by funding specialized medical care, research, and education that save and improve the lives of children.

Support Disaster Relief with Your Credit Union

Your generosity will enable the credit unions in disaster areas to re-open their doors and provide critical financial services and resources to their members and communities they serve to help them rebuild their lives and provide for their families.

The donations will be used to ensure that the credit unions are able to function and will also provide humanitarian aid to the credit unions and credit union members in the affected communities, in short, where it will be needed most. Children's Miracle Network

Marching Miles for Miracle Kids is astatewide credit union event to support Children's Miracle Network and Ohio's Children's Hospitals. The annual event consists of a relay-style march beginning in one part of the state and ending at the Ohio Credit Union League's convention site. Credit Union Members and Credit Union Marchers raise donations for the event. All Donations go to Ohio's local Children's Hospitals.
